Why, hello there! And welcome to my little slice of the internet. I’m Sara; a 23 year old girl from a small town finding her way in the corporate world in New York City. After years of hearing how overworked I would be if I got a job in finance, I’m trying to prove that it IS possible to work hard and live a life while doing so.
I have a distinct memory from when I was a little girl, sitting in my mom’s closet, trying on shoes and discussing what I wanted to be when I grew up. Although I still don’t know the answer, my response remains the same; “I just want to wear pearls and pumps to work.”
In 2016, I put four amazing years behind me and graduated from Fordham University with a degree in finance and marketing, and made the permanent move to New York City. Now I work for one of the Big Four in financial consulting.
A little more…
Oldest of 3. My brother got all of the athletic genes my parents had to offer, my sister is my best friend, my mom is secretly a superhero, and my father is my biggest fan. My closest friends keep me laughing and often know me better than I know myself.
Nerd. Money is my favorite topic and excel is a miracle. Now that I have a steady paycheck, I’m constantly trying to figure out the best ways to spend it, save it, and manage it. Let’s figure this out together.
Foodie. I’m definitely eating and drinking my way through New York City. I love cooking, I try to eat organic food, but there isn’t much I wouldn’t do for a peanut butter, bacon, burger. (Yes, you read that right. Once you try it – you’ll never go back).
Book lover. No day is complete without reading a few pages of a good book, and the first thing I did when I moved to the city was get a library card. Follow me on Goodreads, here!
Reading articles and discovering new blogs is one of my favorite things to do, and there are so many inspiring women out there with so much to say. Although I don’t really know where to start, I’m hoping this will help me find my voice and inspire someone else.
All opinions are my own.
